The Queen of Fragrances Rose is one of the best varieties of large red flowers, particularly renowned for its scent, awarded in Italy and Spain, and praised by the French Society of Perfumers. Its beautiful double and whorled roses emerge in a velvety dark red shade that quickly turns into a deep pink, releasing a sweet fragrance. They bloom from early summer to autumn on a compact bush adorned with disease-resistant foliage. Visible from afar in the garden, its roses are perfect for bouquets.
The 'Queen of Fragrances Rose' (Ora 9898B) was born in the Orard rose gardens, a family business located in Feyzin, not far from Lyon. Among its accolades are the Perfume Prize in Monza in 2013 and the Perfume Prize in Barcelona the same year. It belongs to modern large-flowered roses, also known as hybrid teas. It is a well-remontant rose, flowering from June to October in successive waves. The plant forms a small bushy and dense shrub, vigorous and fast-growing. It will reach approximately 80 cm in height and 50-60 cm in width. The flowers are globular and whorled, large, very double, composed of multiple spirally arranged petals. Their scent is pronounced, especially in warm weather. The dark green foliage is disease-resistant and perfectly enhances the colour of the roses. It is deciduous, meaning it sheds in autumn and regrows in spring.
This Queen of Fragrances Rose deserves a prime spot, not far from the house for easy picking of its roses. It thrives in a large rose bed, in groups of 3 to 5 plants, or alone in a well-kept garden. It adapts to all soils that are not too dry and all climates, tolerating both cold and heat, making it welcome from north to south of our country, even at medium altitudes. It pairs perfectly with purple, pink, mauve, or white roses, pretty and easy-to-grow plants like perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, love-in-a-mist, foxgloves, phlox... Its flowers make for elegant bouquets that delicately scent the home.

Piantagione e cura
To plant your Reine des Parfums rose bush, work the soil over a 40 cm cube, crumbling the soil well and placing a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole, position your plant by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm of soil, refill and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting. Also, remember to provide your rose bush with special rose fertilizer that stimulates plant flowering.
