Description of Rosa Rose Alleyson
The White Rose Alleyson®, dedicated to the eponymous Lyonnaise country music artist, displays large, swirling roses in amber yellow, a very stable colour that does not fade, beautifully enhanced by glossy, vibrant green foliage. Remarkably colourful, the flowers are also powerfully scented. It is a floriferous and repeat-flowering variety that adapts to all exposures, even the sunniest ones, and performs particularly well in pots.
The White Rose Alleyson® (Ora 295-08) was launched in 2015 by the Orard rose gardens, a family business located in Feyzin, not far from Lyon. It belongs to modern large-flowered roses, also known as Tea hybrids, as evidenced by the swirling shape of its flowers. It is a rose that blooms abundantly from June to October, in successive waves, as long as the soil remains somewhat moist. The plant forms a bushy, upright shrub of rapid growth. It will reach an average height of 85 cm with a spread of 50-60 cm. The large flowers are swirling, well-shaped, composed of over 30 petals. Their colour is a superb, very warm yellow with hints of orange at the centre, and their scent is intense, especially in hot weather. The tough, semi-glossy, raw green foliage is highly disease-resistant. Deciduous, it falls in autumn and regrows in spring.
This White Rose Alleyson will find its place in the garden in a large mass of roses in groups of 3 to 5 subjects, isolated in a well-kept garden, but also in a pot on the terrace. This variety adapts to all soils that are not too dry and all climates, allowing it to thrive in many regions, even at medium altitudes. It pairs perfectly with white, red, yellow, orange roses, as well as with pretty, easy-to-grow plants like perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, love-in-a-mist, foxgloves, phlox... Its flowers make for truly elegant bouquets.

Planting of Rosa Rose Alleyson
To plant your Rose Alleyson rose bush, work the soil to a depth of 40 cm by crumbling the earth well and placing a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole, position your plant by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm of soil, refill and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting. Also, remember to provide your rose bush with special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering.
